HAROLD MARKS

IT IS WITH DEEP REGRET AND SORROW THAT THE DAC BOARD ANNOUNCES THE PASSING OF ITS LONG TIME ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AND FRIEND HAROLD MARKS ON JANUARY 30, 2008.
FOR 33 YEARS, HAROLD WAS A BOARD MEMBER, LEAGUE COMMISSIONER,AND ATHLETIC DIRECTOR OF THE ORGANIZATION. HIS TIRELESS EFFORTS ON A DAILY BASIS ENABLED DAC TO MAINTAIN THREE SPORTS FOR THE CHILDREN OF OUR COMMUNITY. WHILE MANY TALK ABOUT GIVING THEIR TIME AND EFFORTS FOR CHILDREN, HAROLD LIVED AND TAUGHT THAT PHILOSPHY FOR OVER THREE DECADES. MAY HE REST IN PEACE AND ETERNAL HAPPINESS.

What Makes DAC Different?

DAC is a non profit organization that is dedicated to providing the children of our neighborhood with quality sports programs. We are here for all the youth of our community not just the star athletes.

DAC has several advantages over other youth programs.

Every child must play at least 1/2 a game. Guaranteed participation is important for kids in building up there skill level, confidence, and allowing them to have fun.

Our leagues have drafts that help create competitive balance. This reduces situations where kids do not have fun going to games that they know will be blow-outs.

All games are played locally, reducing travel time and allowing us to control the quality of the playing facilities. Games are regularly scheduled on the same days of each week.

We offer travel teams for kids looking for higher levels of play.

Each board of director, commissioner, coach and assistant coach has dedicated himself to improving each players skill, confidence, and knowledge of the game

The Goals Of DAC

To be ambassadors of athletics and personal achievement.

For young athletes to learn the game to the best of their ability.

For young athletes to apply the values we teach into their game and into their lives.

For young athletes to achieve excellence!

To improve the overall quality of sports in the Bayside,Whitestone,Flushing , Little Neck and Douglaston area.
